Job Summary:

Supports sub programs of research for the development of novel concepts to advance solutions for unmet needs in the eyecare industry in line with CooperVision targets. Competes technical research assignments and analyses as directed by management.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • Under management supervision, support a cross functional research team to complete activities to achieve milestones to advance concept development toward overall sub program goals.
  • Strong research design knowledge – works under management supervision to design and write research protocols utilizing appropriate research design principles.
  • Works under management supervision to perform appropriate analysis to interpret research results and to write reports, delivering clear conclusions and next steps.
  • Collaborate with established external partners to complete research investigations. Including defining scope of work; managing contracting process; data ownership; milestones and reporting
  • Supports efforts to improve quality of protocol execution and scientific capability with established research centers.
  • Support the development of patent applications and records of invention as directed.
  • Works under management supervision to apply learnings from prior experience, current trends in vision research, and competitor awareness to product development activity and/or invention applications; publishes or presents in scientific forums as needed.
  • Works under management supervision to enhance and apply knowledge of regulatory requirements related to medical devices (IRB / IDE / Design Control/ PMA etc.). Support research partners in improving processes for successful project completion.

Travel:

Some travel to research partners; international conferences or other CooperVision sites is required.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Intermediate research design, statistical analysis, medical writing, GCP and Design Control knowledge.

Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment
  • Sedentary to light physical effort necessary to perform the job.
  • Extensive contact with employees and outside researchers

Experience:

  • Years of experience depends upon educational degree achieved

Education:

  • (PhD + 2 years) or (OD or equivalent + PhD) or (OD or equivalent + MS + 3 years) or (OD or equivalent + 5 years)

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $115,517 and $154,022 and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
