Client Architects provide strategic and technical leadership, commercial support, and governance from an architectural and operational perspective. Client Architecture is a role with structured problem solving and architectural leadership at its core.The CA is actively involved in the strategic aspects of the client relationship, interacting with solutions and service delivery. The core remit will be to act as the source of knowledge around the contracted architecture, establishing themselves as the “trusted advisor” for the customer and NTT alike. In addition, other responsibilities consist of driving optimisation for both the client and NTT around the estate, advanced capacity planning and presentation, continual review of business needs, and keeping abreast of current and new industry best practices and technologies.What you’ll be doingThe CA interacts with Clients, Client Delivery Directors (CDD), Account Managers, Platforms Architecture, Managed Services towers, Solutions/Service Architecture teams, Professional Services, and NTT vendors. The main areas of focus for this role are Architecture & Governance, and Service & Solution Optimisation.Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a close working relationship with the CDD to ensure a seamless combined approach to the management of Client experience, technology integrity, service, and commercial outcomes in accordance with the contractual agreement with the Client.
- Take ownership and learn the client’s supported solutions, processes, intended outcomes, and business drivers. Where feasible, develop relationships and integrate sufficiently to the Client’s own Architecture function to operate within it, and understand both the current state and target state architectures.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the technology estate.
- Collaborate with internal business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure effective Design, Implementation, Assurance and User Acceptance, overseeing key projects to ensure alignment with approved NTT and Client architectures.
- Provide leadership and governance for technical projects on behalf of the client, representing the clients’ interests.
- Apply technical knowledge across a broad range of disciplines with a specific focus on Enterprise Networking and Security.
- Provide technical governance for NTT solutions proposals that impact the environment.
- Responsible to address technical concerns of Managed Services operating architecture, liaising with Platform Architecture, to ensure reliability, performance, integrity, scalability, and security.
- Engage with operational and/or change management teams, to keep be informed and/or review client’s new services and understand the subsequent implications (e.g., performance, capacity, availability, integrity, risk etc.) from an architectural perspective.
- Identify short term gains that provide benefit to clients.
- Review client architecture and delivery management functions using standard inputs (e.g., availability and capacity reports, demand management tools etc.) to identify opportunities or areas for optimization. Develop and present opportunities to either internal or external stakeholders, for buy-in and prioritisation.
- Review and identify areas whereby improvements of the cost and performance of the technology estate, service delivery and/or commercial model can be realised.
Required Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in services within a large scale (preferably multi-national) technology services environment across a range of services, operating within an ITIL aligned framework (or comparable frameworks).
- A good understanding of service delivery to clients.
- Thorough experience in relevant services and products and understanding of industry best practices.
- Demonstrated strong vendor relationships to ensure an understanding of the vendor’s products business and services positioning.
- Demonstrable experience in Enterprise Architecture, Governance, and Risk Management frameworks.
- Knowledge and experience with automation technologies and tools, along with understanding the processes and procedures to facilitate automation.
- Experience with technologies and concepts such as Cisco DNAC, Cisco SDWAN Cloud, Cisco Spaces, Routing, Switching, Wireless, Large-Scale Syslog, Monitoring
- Experience in FMCG, large retail, distribution logistics sectors
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to work in line with best practice in complex environments and within tight time constraints
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to build excellent working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to demonstrate conceptual technology knowledge
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Cisco R&S certifications, CCIE preferred (current or lapsed)
- ITIL foundations certification preferable
- TOGAF certification preferable
- Tertiary qualification preferable (Technical or Business)
