Location – Birmingham

Salary Bracket – £35000+ basic

*Paid door to Door Travel

25 Day Holiday Plus Bank Holidays Increasing to 35 Days (1 Day Extra Per Annum To 30 Days & A Further 5 Days After 10 Years)

This is a highly rewarding position, joining a strong and dedicated Operations team in our clients Birmingham Branch, providing a high level of job satisfaction.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to organise themselves, as well as contributing to the operational team while delivering the highest level of customer service to all clients. They should have the ability to carry out maintenance & repairs as required on Fire Alarm Systems. The engineer would need to be part of the on-call rota, which is currently 1 in 7.

Important requirements:
Must be Fire Biased
Must be capable of 1st 2nd fix and basic commissioning.
Stable/consistent work history
Location is key – Only applicants within circa 10 miles of Birmingham area
Minimum of 3 years’ experience
Strong Fire and Security Alarm Installation Technical Knowledge
Happy with working in a van
Prepared to go on Call-out rota, which is currently 1 in 7
Full Clean driving licence

Disciplines Desirable: *Aspirating Smoke

Role & Responsibility:
Field-based role
Installation of Fire & Security systems
Commissioning of Fire Alarm systems
Provide support & training

Min 3 years Industry Experience
Accomplished Technical knowledge of fire and security systems installation
Knowledge of legislation and commissioning
Good service and fault-finding ability
Accurate paperwork & conscientious attitude
Good communicator & timekeeper
Presentable & reliable
Show consistency during previous employment

Installation of conventional & addressable fire detection systems
Knowledge of legislation and commissioning
Fault finding and repairs to above systems
To provide reliable, quality support to our customers at all times
To have a professional telephone and face-to-face manner
Assist customers and regional team with technical issues either on the phone or face to face
A flexible approach to working hours. Out-of-hours working will be required at times
Provide assistance and training to other team members as required

Must have a high level of experience in the industry
FIA or equivalent Training
Excellent technical knowledge of fire systems
Have a systematic/logical approach to tasks & problems
Ensure all tasks are carried out quickly & efficiently
Be presentable in person and in vehicle and tools
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Be aware of and responsible for the equipment required to complete the necessary works, including emergency van stock.
Understand the need for precise completion of paperwork records of jobs and full use of PDA device.
Have a polite but assertive telephone manner
Good customer service skills
Ability to motivate staff & colleagues and lead by example
The ability to think laterally and \”out of the box\”
