- Provide structural design and technical support including calculations for concrete, structural steel and connection design, design drawing review, field investigations, and assistance with solutions for the construction or repair of industrial buildings, facilities and services
- Write specifications, contract documents and proposals
- Review and manage project scope, budget and schedule
- Supervise, coordinate and direct the work of an engineering/design team in the development of structural/building finishes deliverables from conceptual to detail design
- Review project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation; including checking for technical accuracy
- Develop and maintain positive, sustainable client relationships
- Coordinate and work with project managers and other discipline leads
- Provide leadership, mentoring, guidance and technical expertise to the project team
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in structural design
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) in the province of Saskatchewan
- Comprehensive and thorough scope knowledge of structural designs and an understanding of industry codes, standards and construction methods
- Material design experience, which includes experience in the use of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and / or wood
- Minimum 15 years experience working on mining and/or heavy industrial projects is an asset
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Team-oriented and creative thinking
- Demonstrated abilities in cooperation and decision making
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
