And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.As a Lead Scientist in this lab-based role you will deliver technical solutions for the next generation purification processes that meet industry demands. You will design, plan and execute studies in support of technology or process/product development projects with well-defined scopes and timelines. Analyse study data to drive conclusions and maintain Lonza as the lead supplier.Key responsibilities:Contribute to the development of advanced primary recovery strategiesAssess novel primary recovery technologies at Laboratory and Pilot scaleDesign, develop and optimize scalable primary recovery processes and novel affinity purification methodsAssess ligands and tag technologies for novel affinity capture stepsStudy ligand-protein interactions through in-silico and biophysical methodsDevelop and refine the process conditions for bespoke affinity capture methodsIndependently designs studies, collate, evaluate/analyze and interpret complex data sets to achieve project targetsWrite and execute detailed study plans with problem statements, success criteria and timelinesAuthor high quality technical reports and publications with scientifically supported conclusions and recommendationsKey requirements:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in the field of biotechnology, chemistry or chemical engineeringDemonstrable experience in working in a laboratory environmentExperience in the primary recovery area such as depth filtration, centrifugation process development, novel affinity capture methods for mAb and Non-Mab (NMF) productsExperience in writing scientific technical reports and publicationsFluent English language skillsEvery day, Lonza’s products and services have a positive impact on millions of people.
