- Provide technical layout and design of mechanical systems for industrial facilities and related infrastructure using company and industry standards and codes. This includes mechanical equipment, building services/HVAC, and piping systems.
- Design and drafting of equipment or piping systems in 2D and 3D drawing environments.
- Providing conceptual front end design to full detailed design and material take-offs for industrial and mining facilities.
- Develop and maintain positive, sustainable client relationships.
- Coordinate and work with other project team members.
- Mentor junior members of the design team.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, CADCAM, Engineering Drafting and Design or equivalent technical program
- 5+ years experience as a mechanical designer, preferably with experience in mining and mechanical detailing
- Proven experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D and/or AVEVA E3D software and excellent knowledge of 3D design/drafting
- Able to perform calculations for detailed equipment design, such as for tanks, chute work, and launders
- Self-motivated with good leadership and interpersonal skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Must be willing to relocate to the Saskatoon area, if required
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
- Additional assets include:
- Potash, Uranium or other mining experience
- Design experience with specification generation, stress analysis and mechanical equipment layout, materials handling, piping, and / or HVAC
- Underground mining experience
- Site / construction experience
