Job description: We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.As an Infrastructure as Code Software Engineer III- Python / Terraform / Cloud / Resiliency at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Bank, Infrastructure and Production Management, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Drives, supports, and delivers on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon’s utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, AWS CloudFront, AWS EFS, CloudWatch, EKS)
- Designs resilient, secure, and high performing platforms in Public Cloud using JPMC best practices
- Improves reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions moving to public cloud
- Measures and optimizes system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
- Provides primary operational support and engineering for the public cloud platform
- Utilizes programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience/knowledge designing and building web environments on AWS, which includes working with services like EC2, ELB, RDS, and S3
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Experience/Knowledge of writing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform
- Experience with Python Development
- Experience with one or more public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure
- Knowledge of container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Ability to leverage Splunk and Dynatrace to identify and troubleshoot issues
