We are scaling up at a phenomenal rate!Initially being accountable for day-to-day HR administration, data accuracy on systems, employee onboarding experience and induction, they will be pivotal to providing a seamless HR support function. This is a full generalist role where you will doing the day-to-day basics of HR along with strategic projects and supporting senior leadership.Hours of work will generally be Monday to Friday, core hours 08:30-17:30 and will be office/site based. However due to the nature of the role and organisation, there may be times where flexibility is required when undertaking HR activities and projects with differing time zones,Supervisory Responsibilities:None currently but in future team leadership of HR and administration team member[s]Duties/Responsibilities:As a Human Resources Manager at EIT you will be responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and procedures to support our growing team. This role demands a self-starter who is proactive and detail-oriented individual with a very strong background in HR administration, HR systems and new employee onboarding, The ideal candidate will have prior experience in HR roles and a track record of success in establishing HR practices in startup environments.May include some or all the following responsibilities:HR Administration:
- Manage day-to-day HR operations, including but not limited to employee record management, new hire processing including drafting offer letters and contracts, undertaking and reviewing background checks and referencing, monthly payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance with employment legislation and regulations.
- Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures in alignment with institute goals and legal requirements.
- Update HR intranet pages and provide tools and frameworks to support both employees and managers
- Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of employee data and documentation.
- Work with existing and new employees to achieve benefits enrolment, promoting and encouraging take up
New Employee Onboarding:
- Design and execute a comprehensive onboarding programme to ensure smooth integration of new hires into the company culture and institute operations.
- Coordinate and run new hire orientation sessions, prepare onboarding materials, and facilitate introductions to key team members and departments.
- Gather feedback from new employees to continuously improve the onboarding experience.
- Manage, assign, review and report on training activities and online learning content.
Recruitment Processes:
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job requisitions, job description creations, job postings, supporting on candidate sourcing, screening, and where required interviewing, and offer negotiation.
HR Strategy and Development:
- Collaborate with HR Director and support senior management to align HR initiatives with business objectives and growth plans.
- Identify areas for improvement in HR practices and develop innovative solutions to address challenges.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in HR management and leverage insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Connect with and build local HR network for sharing of best practice and gaining insights to market and industry initiatives related to people
At a future date this role may evolve into a Business Partnering function or provide opportunity to specialise in specific areas of the HR agenda.Person SpecificationEssential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Prior experience in an operational HR role.
- Fully competent with HR administration.
- Excellent user of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Unfazed dealing with ambiguity and confident to make decisions or execute on needs.
- Detail conscious and highly organised.
- Excellent standard of written English.
- Driven by task outcomes and goals.
- Familiar with the use of HR/Payroll/Training system.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Qualified by experience.
- HR qualification advantageous.
- Experience of, and a passion for, culture, E, D & I.
- Experience of payroll administration
- Familiar with HR and Training systems functionality, capabilities and ideally involved in implementation of such.
- Undertaken and managed recruitment campaigns previously.
Terms of Appointment
- You must be eligible to work in the UK with a willingness to travel as necessary.
- You must be based in, or within easy commuting distance of, Oxford.
- During peak periods, some longer hours may be required and some working across multiple time zones due to the global nature of the programme.
