Know Your Rights: Responsibilities:We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I (PRN), also referred to as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (Med Tech) / Medical Laboratory Technician at St Joseph Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare. The Clinical Lab Scientist I (CLS I) requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently within a healthcare team. They play an important role in the diagnostic process, contributing significantly to patient care and treatment, but do not need any experience in this field. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.Shift’s Available: VariedEmployment Type: Per Diem (PRN)Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions
- interpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities
- ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care
- implement and monitor the quality control program to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, including calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment
- keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems
- ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements
Qualifications:EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- ASCP certification, or equivalent, required within 1 year of employment
- one year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required
- bachelors degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological Science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489)
- current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required
