Our mission is to create state-of-the-art AV solutions that meet the specific needs of our clients, enhancing the user experience and facilitating advanced learning and collaboration.About the roleThe AV Solutions Research Engineer is pivotal in designing and configuring cutting-edge AV systems technologies for AV Solutions. The role holder plays a crucial part in developing the integrated audio-visual systems architecture across all campuses, ensuring state-of-the-art solutions are implemented effectively. This role offers flexible working conditions, providing an opportunity to balance professional responsibilities with personal commitments, thereby fostering a positive and productive work environment. The successful candidate will be a highly experienced AV specialist with a strong background in both technical and scientific theory, as well as robust IT skills. This role will be offered on a full-time, indefinite contractAbout youTo be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:Essential criteria1. Intermediate level of at least three and advanced level of at least one of the following: Coding (Python, C++, C#, etc), Q-sys systems, Dante/AES67 DSP balance and setup, lighting (TV or Theatre), environmental acoustics, electro acoustics, electronics, sound mixing, Machine Learning/DNN/AI, Virtual Reality, Room Design, 3D architectural design and BiM, Audio Analysis, prompt engineering, academic research2. Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit or similar designing skills3. Educated to degree level or equivalent (HNC, A level, NVQ 3, HND level or equivalent with relevant experience)4. Good standard of written and spoken English5. Proactive, flexible and responsive approach to work6. Significant previous experience with Audio Visual systems (design, Installation or service)7. Experience of working effectively as part of a team, particularly with regards delivering services and problem solving jointly8. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skillsDesirable criteria1. Proactive, flexible and responsive approach to work2. Previous experience in designing complex audio-visual systems for higher education3. Experience in conducting witness testing and dealing with AV contractors4.
