This is a permanent, full-time role, with a 9-day fortnight lifestyle roster, enjoy every second Friday off!This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a Chemist to engage in a diverse role that integrates Chemistry, Physics, and Material Science to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of our globally used pigmentary products.Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate laboratory and process equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the investigation of customer issues/ complaints ranging from simple to complex.
  • Interpret data and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Collect and collate laboratory data to support product improvements, new product launches, and market expansion.
  • Initiate and manage new projects with minimal guidance.
  • Provide presentations and reports on project and investigation work.
  • Collaborate with all departments to support quality, operational excellence, and value creation.
  • Develop new test methods for internal and external customers globally.
  • Perform lab-level application testing in paints, plastics, and paper.
  • Develop new application tests and utilize them for various programs with team guidance.
  • Conduct lab work for benchmarking, competitive studies, and test development.
  • Ensure timely turnaround of quality results.
  • Offer technical support and recommendations to regional commercial teams and customers.
  • Manage customer qualifications and support trials of new products.
  • Develop test strategies for new product and product improvement projects.
  • Manage customer specifications.
  • Support the product steward as needed.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, majoring in Chemistry and/or Material Science.
  • 2 – 5 years laboratory experience is preferred
  • Adaptability to changing work priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong communication skills for team meetings and work planning.
  • Aptitude for working with mechanical equipment and troubleshooting processing issues.
  • Demonstrate site safety leadership.
  • Provide first-level technical support for customers.
