- Under direction of the Engineering Manager & Technical Leads and in collaboration with colleagues, provide advanced technical development skills to the ABC’s Audience Facing Digital Products team, and contribute in the development of components and features in an efficient manner across the ABC’s mobile applications.
- Contribute to the analysis, design and development of reusable components and functionality for a broad range of users across various ABC digital properties.
- In collaboration with colleagues contribute to the delivery of high quality product development within prescribed timeframes and budget constraints and ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Consistently deliver technical solutions in line of the technical leads and engineering manager’s long term technical roadmap in close collaboration with direct and broader teammates.
- Maintain an ongoing level of awareness of best industry practices for mobile development and convey this information to other teammates on a regular basis.
- Collaborate and contribute to the planning of major product features and schedule and coordinate work in your area of responsibility.
- Generate and maintain technical documentation, ensuring that all development work undertaken is properly documented.
About You
- Strong demonstrated experience developing native Android applications using core technologies provided by the core Android ecosystem in preferably Kotlin
- Strong demonstrated knowledge and experience in assessing, selecting and using modern frameworks and build tools, implementing automated/unit testing, and version control branching, emerging and versioning strategies.
- Experience in setting up, maintaining and working with a continuous integration system and diagnosing build failures working towards prompt resolution.
- Great interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to foster an open and creative approach to development both within and across teams.
- Keen attention to detail and organisational skills with the proven ability to effectively plan and prioritise projects and tasks effectively
