Would you like to own developing and managing relationships with Venture Capital firms and influencing decision making towards utilizing Oracle’s AI as the basis for their portfolio companies’ infrastructure? Do you have the business savvy, the technical insight, relationship development skills and the background necessary to mesh with the startup/VC ecosystem and to help further establish Oracle as the leader in the AI space?

As the AI Startup Leader EMEA – Venture Capital, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Oracle AI’s cloud computing platform within the Venture Capital community. Your responsibilities will include identifying appropriate VCs to target, driving the necessary business, strategic and technical relationships with the VCs and their portfolio companies to establish new business in those accounts, and to work closely with the Oracle sales team drive the day-to-day interactions with the portfolio companies to build long-term business opportunity. You’ll also work closely with Oracle’s business development, product management and marketing teams on strategic initiatives that tie in to the startup community.

The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact with senior partners at Venture Capital firms and CxOs and founders of startups, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers, engineers and architects. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions and work cross-organizationally to build consensus.


  • Business development – Serve as a key member of the Business Development team in helping to drive overall Oracle market and technical strategy.
  • Market Development – Identify key VCs with portfolio companies that have infrastructure needs, and drive engagement with those organizations.
  • Pipeline management – Work closely with the VCs and their portfolio companies to ensure they are successful using our web services, making sure they have the technical resources required.
  • Sales ownership: Lead the sales engagement from initial meeting to closing at the most innovative startups and VCs
  • Executive engagement – Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, marketing, legal, support, etc.).
  • Technical solutioning – collaborate with AI tech specialists to build AI architectures supporting customers’ needs.
  • Cross-team collaboration – Leverage OCI teams and partners to drive AI adoption and usage at customers.
  • Deliver results – Exceed revenue (booking, consumption) and KPI goals for your territory.

Required Skills/Experience

What You’ll Bring

  • 10-year experience selling technology platforms and infrastructure solutions in a startup or at a cloud provider,
  • Solid knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, Generative AI, GPU, and AI services at customers is required,
  • Experience in engaging at C-level, and building long-term relationship in startups or fortune 500,
  • Track-record winning large data and AI cloud projects with successful delivery,
  • Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of the startup landscape including ISV, leading AI players, and consulting companies

Primary job duty is to sell technology software products and related services in a defined territory. Identifies, qualifies and closes new opportunities. Manages accounts including the entire sales process from business development prospecting and specifications through contract negotiations, signing, and post-sales support. Leverages the Oracle sales model to maximize revenue growth and increase local market share. Builds and expands business partner revenue and self sufficiency.
